About the Course
The Advanced Placement US History course is focused on the development of historical thinking skills (chronological reasoning, comparing and contextualizing, crafting historical arguments with the use of historical evidence, and interpreting and synthesizing historical narrative) which are essential to the study of history. It is the goal of the college board, as well as myself, to inspire apprentice historians whom will be able to use these tools in order to create a deeper knowledge and analyze events throughout our history into the present. This course will cover events from pre-colonization through the current era while focusing on thematic learning objectives such as the development of our national identity, politics, America in the world, and environmental influences.
THIS IS A COLLEGE LEVEL COURSE GIVEN TO PASS A COLLEGE LEVEL EXAM.
